Dr. Mukherjee, a graduate of Stanford, Harvard, and Oxford (as well as a Rhodes Scholarship program) is a cancer researcher. In this New York Times article, Dr. Mukherjee discusses conflicting messages often found in different diets, as well how the ketogenic diet combined with PI3 kinase inhibitors helps positively affect some cancer patients while negatively affecting others.
Dr. Peter Attia discussed this article and effects of the ketogenic diet with Dr. Mukherjee on his podcast. The two also explore Dr. Mukherjee’s wider cancer research, how he writes and who his audience is, and what he considers to be the 3 laws of medicine.
Dr. Mukherjee’s most recent book, The Gene: An Intimate History, is being made into a PBS special that will air in 2020.
